about

Three graduates of myriad bands make this: repeat offenders of many prior albums and singles, grim veterans of ambulatory gigs in shopping centres, last survivors of radio sessions, nationwide tours and all of the whores in a dirty old trade. Watch them writhe, brought in from the needle rain to dance the dawn and blues, and twilight, filmic, blue and cool, make a din commensurate, encapsulate and sing bright to dare the gloom. Sorka’s sound is a loom.

What does this music spark in the mind? You fnd yourself within a reach of morning, the abandoned vista ahead, and behind, the emptied realm of weekend and those torn flags of memoried eventide, wanting pleasure and song. Yet no genre this, no format; instead coming from all sorts of prior stories and bands of men, maul-rendering post-rock, punk noise and electro scapes for a heedless bliss of music damaged, fixed, and set to the club. Some people come from nearby islands, the leathern clerics point at the miscreants on the bandstand… the desert synth empties you.

Of what do these songs speak? Of politics’ conditions and religions’ dramas; the digital goth of their moonlit towers gorging on life amidst the dying business of the early city morning, and yes, the shaken mores of the modern. First voice and work, extends - let’s go out, and pay the piper course. Let’s hold tight, shake kisses, fight. Sorka requests this, our Neu-blear, our neo-noir, our meridian doom smiling to a glower. Dance now, the moon is high and gone, and Sorka gesture you into the throng.
